Thoughts From 2nd Timothy 3:16-17

Today as I was reading in 2nd Timothy verse 16 and 17 of chapter 3 grabbed my attention.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Folks, reading God’s Word, the Bible, will bring you hope, encouragement, guidance, and practical advice on the everyday issues you’re facing. Believe it or not God’s Word is relevant to everyone, everywhere, at any time.

If you’re not reading God’s Word daily, today is a great day to start. There is no better time and no reason to wait.
In the words of Paul…”May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace.”

Thoughts From James 1:12

“God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
James 1:12 NLT

As I was reading this morning from the book of James, part of chapter one verse twelve grabbed my attention. “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation.” Testing and temptation! Is there a difference? Yes! Temptation is being enticed or allured to sin. Or you can say obeying Satan! Remember, God never tempts anyone, but God does test us. When God is testing us, He is providing us with choices as believers, wanting us to make the right decisions.Or you can say obeying God! Folks, it all boils down to obedience to God or obedience to Satan. Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!

Have a great day and may God bless you with grace, peace, and joy!

Thoughts From John 3:18-19

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [19] And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:18-19 NKJV

When John used the phrase “believes in Him” it means more than just saying “Jesus is real.” This kind of belief includes committing your life to Christ and putting your trust in His salvation.

Thoughts From Romans 15:4

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
Romans 15:4 NKJV

The Bible contains a lot of really good advice, but it’s not a self-help book. It is much more important than that. A self-help book may be a useful tool, but it is not absolutely necessary. The Bible is an integral part of our relationship with God.

Thoughts From 1 Chronicles 28:9

“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
1 Chronicles 28:9 NLT

Devotion is the word we use to describe participating in a short Bible study and discussion, like the one we are having now. But the word devotion also refers to the attitude that drives us to seek God.
