Thoughts From 1 John 5:4

Good Morning! It’s Sunday and the beginning of a new week. We don’t know what this week will bring, but what whatever the world can throw at us, we already have VICTORY! 1st John 5:4 says, “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.” Folks,  Jesus never promised that obeying Him would be easy. But the hard work and self-discipline of serving Him won’t be a burden to those who love Him. Even if your load starts to feel heavy, you can always trust Jesus to help you bear it. Have a great week!

Thoughts From Matthew 5:13-15

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. [14] “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. [15] Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
Matthew 5:13 – 15 NKJV

Is it a compliment to be called “salt”? How about “light”? It must be, since that’s what Jesus wants his followers to be.

Thoughts From Matthew 7:21

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:21

God didn’t create heaven as a club for people who say the right password. Many people think they can do a few good deeds and get into heaven. Their goal is to get into heaven by the skin of their teeth and figure heaven is the reward for their efforts.

Folks, that is not how God figures it, though. It’s not easy to follow God’s will in this world. We have to resist sins that other people enjoy. We might have to put up with people making fun of us and accusing us of being narrow minded and unloving. We sometimes live as foreigners in a place where other people feel at home.

Remember, God understands our difficulties. He’s with us every step of the way. He knows what we go through and He’s here to help us. He rewards us with His presence, grace and forgiveness in this life, and we look forward to heaven in the next. When you think about it, that’s an unbeatable deal.

Enjoy your week and “keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.”

Thoughts From Galatians 6:10

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:10 NKJV

Paul writes that believers are supposed to “do good to all people.” This means that we are to show God’s love to everyone we encounter. Then Paul goes on to tell us “especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

Thoughts From Colossians 4:5-6

“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. [6] Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”
Colossians 4:5-6 NLT

As believers, we need to be careful about how we act when we are around people who do not know God. It can be tempting when we are around unbelievers to act the way they do. Sometimes we feel like no one’s watching if the people we are with do not know how God wants people to behave. But this is precisely when others are watching, believe it or not, unbelievers are watching. Whether they consciously think about it or not, they are observing our behavior.

And if our behavior is godly, it will often lead to opportunities for us to share our faith with others. Folks, someone will ask you why you don’t do this or do that, there is your opportunity share your faith.

Remember, our time on earth is limited. We need to make the most of it by honoring God with our actions, especially toward unbelievers.
