Is There Help?
Sometimes our burdens seem more than we can bear, and we wonder how we can go on.
We all carry some type of burden, whether it’s the heavy burden of sin, the burden of not being able to handle the concerns, problems, worries that life throws at us, the burden of excessive demands of religious leaders, the burden of oppression and persecution, or the burden of weariness in the search for God.
Yes, when we are burdened or mistreated, we may feel defeated, but we don’t have to be defeated. God can help us carry burdens!

Government Cannot Solve Problems of Faith
1 Samuel 8:6-7 NLT
“Samuel was displeased with their request and went to the LORD for guidance. [7] “Do everything they say to you,” the LORD replied, “for they are rejecting me, not you. They don’t want me to be their king any longer.”
The Israelites clamored for a king, thinking that a new system of government would bring about a change in the nation. Just like the Israelites we think the same way. We believe that a new administration will bring change to our nation.
But, just like Israel, our basic problem is disobedience to God, and with disobedience to God our problems will continue under any new administration. Government cannot solve problems of faith.

To escape punishment for killing an Egyptian, Moses ran away to the land of Midian. He became a stranger in a foreign land, separated from his home and family. Many years went by before Moses was once again ready to serve God. But he trusted God instead of fearing the king. We often feel abandoned or isolated because of things we have done. But when we are fearful or feeling separated, we should not give up. Moses didn’t. He trusted God to deliver him in spite of his dark past and his seemingly bleak future.
