Thoughts From Galatians 6:10

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:10 NKJV

Paul writes that believers are supposed to “do good to all people.” This means that we are to show God’s love to everyone we encounter. Then Paul goes on to tell us “especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

This does not mean that we are supposed to show care only for believers, but it does mean that we are to recognize that the church is a family of believers. We are supposed to function as a family, supporting one another, helping one another and loving one another.

When we function as a family, we as individuals are better able to serve and help people outside of this family of believers. We make each other stronger and better equipped to “do good to all people.”

Folks, the goodness needs to start at home, with the family, so that we will be strong enough to take that goodness out into the world.
