“Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! [9] Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! [10] Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!”
1 Chronicles 16:8 – 10

If you ever need a praise role model, you need to look to David. He was a shepherd, a giant-killer, a warrior, a musician and the most beloved king in Israel’s history. More important than all that, is the fact that David knew how to praise God.

In Scripture, David is described as a man after God’s own heart. He did not get that reputation by ignoring the Lord. David knew God better than most people because David spent more time talking to Him than most people do. So, what did David talk about? Sometimes he talked about his enemies. Sometimes he talked about his failures. But most of the time, he talked about how great and how faithful God is.

The setting of 1 Chronicles 16 is Jerusalem, where David had just returned the ark of the covenant, one of the holiest relics in Israel’s history. David was so excited that he started praising God for His faithfulness to Israel throughout history. And David did not stop for 29 verses.

Folks, do you think you could fill 29 verses with thanks to God for His faithfulness to your family? You will never know until you try.
