Thoughts From Colossians 3:13

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”
Colossians 3:13 NLT

It is important that we get along with each other. People who do not know God will see His power in the way that we love one another. Remember what Jesus said, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” Now, this doesn’t mean that we will never be hurt by another believer. Believe it or not, we are not immune to sin. That’s right, we hurt each other’s feelings, we lie about others and we take what doesn’t belong to us. I know it’s sad, but it’s true. But, God tells us we still need to forgive others when they ask for our forgiveness.

We are to forgive as the Lord has forgiven us. No matter what someone does to us, it isn’t as bad as the sins we’ve committed against God. And if we’ve repented and given our lives to Jesus, then we have been forgiven for all of it. The least we can do in return is to forgive others when they repent of their wrongs.

Folks, when you are struggling to forgive someone for something they did to you, remember that God has already forgiven you for more.
