Thoughts From Psalm 60:11-12

Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. [12] With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes.
Psalm 60:11-12 NLT

When King David wrote this Psalm he was a new king and had inherited a sinful Israel from King Saul and was in battles with Aram Naharaim and Aram Zobah, you can read about this time in David’s life in 2nd Samuel 8 and 1st Chronicles 18. David knew well that God was the only one who could help him with his enemies. Folks, it is the same today, even though our enemies are not physical but spiritual,

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NLT

Folks, When we are attacked by the powers of darkness, God has given us everything we need to win the battle.

Ephesians 6:11,13-18 NLT
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
God is the only one who can deliver us.
