Proverbs Challenge – Day 2

Proverbs Challenge! Today is day 2 of our challenge. The verse that stood out to me this morning is verse 6.

“For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

Proverbs 2:6 NLT

James 1:5 tells us “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” 1 Kings 3:1-15, tells us that is what King Solomon did. Solomon asked God for discernment and wisdom and guess what? God granted to him and Solomon became the wisest man, well except Jesus. Solomon writes Proverbs as a father who urges his son to seek wisdom. He tells us that wisdom will protect us from the dangers of life. We must seek wisdom while understanding that it is a gift from God. Wisdom is understanding built through listening to God’s Word and observing His world. Wisdom gives us discernment when words are twisted to represent what is wrong as being right, emotional maturity, restraint, and ability to assess the purpose of someone’s speech. Folks, as children of God we receive wisdom because we begin to understand that everything is under God’s rule and in His service. Wisdom is more than just an attitude. It is a way of living that takes into account God’s power and authority and our ultimate accountability to Him. Wisdom is connected with a proper relationship with God. Do you want wisdom? Then you must enter to a relationship with the One who has all the wisdom.
