Looks like we are going to have a nice weekend, mid 80’s and low humidity. As God’s children we call on Him in times of need. At times it seems our prayers are not being heard. Folks, that is true, they are not being heard. Why? We may have unconfessed sin in our hearts. Look at verse 18. As children of God we don’t live a sinful lifestyle, but we still do sin. You can read about that in 1st John 1:5‐10. Before we go to God in prayer, we need to check our hearts and confess our sins, then God will listen.
Psalm 66:16-20 NLT
Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. [17] For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. [18] If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. [19] But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. [20] Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.
